How My Novel is Related to WWII
My novel The Boy in the Striped Pajamas it is related to World War II in many ways. This novel is about Bruno and his family that are a typical family that don't get bothered with anything. They are not Jews or Blacks and during the war they did not need to be escorted anywhere. This family is just like every other family and are safe. Bruno comes to meet a boy on another side of the fence that is in a concentration camp. My book also talks about a story that happened during the Holocaust. My story relates to the war because it tells a story that might have happened and how Jewish families were treated when they were sent away. They were separated between boys and girls. Even the young kids had to go through the same thing and had to be separated.
These images show how the Jews were treated during the war and how they had to live. "You can't have all lived in the one room," said Bruno, shaking his head. "That doesn't make any sense"(David The Boy in the Strpied Pajamas 128). "All of us," said Shmuel, nodding his head. "Eleven in total"(128). These images are important and show how the people were during the war and how crouded it was in the rooms. This shows my main charcter Bruno that he has no idea of what Shmuel is going through. He dont understand how all the of the people in the concentration camp have to stay together in rooms and why they have to work a lot. Bruno dont understand why he was so skiny and looked like he was starved. Shmuel hasn't told him everything but does tell stories that have happened to him. He doesn't want to scare Bruno away he likes haveing him around to talk to. Bruno is really intrested in Shmuel's life and really wants to know more about it. He never thought he would have meet a boy like him and didnt know why he was not like other boys. Bruno will soon come to see what really happens to Shmuel and what all he has been through. This will impact the outcome of the war because Shmuel may not live unless the war ends soon and he is free.
These artifacts change my opinion of the war because it makes me angry that our people would do this to people. It is carzy that they treated people like this just over being a different color or haveing a surtain religon. These images also make me sad because I have to look at these pictures and how brutal they were treated and how many people were killed. A lot of them were starveing, were very weak, and they had no one to help them. It is sad they had to be seperated from their families and they never knew if they would see eachother again. I just cant believe they had to go through all of this and I cant believe how many people had to died. It is crazy how the war ended and they were all free but, it was to late for a lot of people.
